Don Hutchison reacts to West Ham defeat v Eintracht Frankfurt

Don Hutchison is confident that West Ham can turn it around in the second leg against Eintracht Frankfurt away from home.

The Hammers suffered a 2-1 defeat at the London Stadium in the first leg but the tie is far from over.

Hutchison suggested that there’s nothing to worry about and has backed the Hammers to turn it around citing an example that they previously went to Lyon and picked up a win.

Hutchison wrote on Twitter, replying to a comment from a fan: “Why worry? West Ham went to Lyon and smashed them. The manager and players will back themselves. That’s what pros do.”

Won’t be easy

It won’t be easy for the Hammers but the tie is far from over.

The visitors deserved the win and they looked a menace on the counter-attack.

The problem for the Hammers is that the mood around the stadium swung like a pendulum as the Hammers conceded a very early goal.

However, it didn’t take long for them to equalise through Michail Antonio but to concede yet again in the second half proved to be costly.

David Moyes welcomed back Kurt Zouma who was absent in the past few games through injury, but the Frenchman proved to be the weak link.

The story could have easily been different had Said Benrahma and Jarrod Bowen found the net, with the latter coming agonisingly close to equalising in the dying minutes.

The Hammers need to be brave enough in the second leg but at the same time, they have to be very strong at the back.

In other West Ham news, a BBC pundit has slammed Moyes’ harsh criticism of one key West Ham man.
