Don Hutchison backs West Ham to clinch Europa League
Don Hutchison believes that West Ham are the favourites to win the Europa League along with RB Leipzig.
He expects both the teams to win their respective semi-finals against Frankfurt and Rangers respectively to set up a final clash.
While he admits it will be tough, he sees the Hammers coming through with the trophy.
Speaking on the Premier League Weekend Round-up, the BT Sport pundit said, “West Ham can go and win the competition. They and Leipzig are the best teams. I really fancy their chances.”
Let’s get it done
It’s been an incredible season for the Hammers and this will be some way to cap it off.
Few expected that last season’s sixth place finish would be followed by a similar performance and a scintillating European run.
However, that has exactly happened and David Moyes must be given credit for it.
He wasn’t probably backed by the board in the transfer markets but he has still managed to help this squad punch above their weight.
They are now the favourites to get through to the final and finishing in the top six will be the cherry on the cake.
Should they win the Europa League, Moyes’ name will be etched in the Hammers history forever and he deserves every bit of the adulation that will come his way.
