Domino’s Pizza mock West Ham transfer developments
Domino’s Pizza have mocked West Ham United’s lack of transfer activity in this summer transfer window in the latest blow for the Hammers.
Taking to Twitter, the worldwide pizza chain poked fun at the Iron’s lack of new additions this summer, finding themselves the only Premier League team yet to make a signing.
While jovial in nature, it does emphasise concerns among West Ham fans regarding the seeming lack of action on the market so close to the start of the season, especially considering the huge cash boost following the £105million sale of Declan Rice.
On Twitter Domino’s said: “Just had West Ham come in again… and not buy anything.”
Truth
While brands often try their best at football-based viral marketing, the funniest comes from a place of truth and Domino’s sentiment here is certainly on the money.
Meanwhile, West Ham are sitting on a big pile of money currently going unspent after Rice’s departure. Despite links to various players including Denis Zakaria and James Ward-Prowse, the Hammers are a weaker team than the one that ended last season in 14th place.

Reports of West Ham being in some sort of crisis will also do little to help the anxious London Stadium faithful. Disagreements behind the scenes between David Moyes and the board while new technical director Tim Steidten felt the pressure as soon as he walked through the door.
West Ham’s lack of signings is not through a lack of trying. They had a £20million bid rejected by Manchester United for Harry Maguire, remain at odds with Southampton over James Ward-Prowse after their £25million bid was dismissed as too low while their move for Manchester City winger Carlos Borges looks to have been hijacked by Dutch giants Ajax.

Such comments by Domino’s may put a smirk on the face of Moyes, who shares this frustration about a lack of activity.
It has been a tough window for the Hammers, but their bad luck has seemingly been equalled by a lack of direction. The closing days before the start of the season could be nail-biting, and fans will hope a new player will be delivered quickly.
In other West Ham news, Sky Sports has shared Gianluca Di Marzio’s latest update regarding the Hammers’ Inter-linked forward.
