Doctor issues medical update as West Ham United defender Thilo Kehrer transfer news emerges
We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at West Ham...
West Ham defender Thilo Kehrer is unlikely to face any issues passing his medical at AS Monaco or any other club, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that he’s unlikely to have any long-term effects and the club that will be signing him will assess if his fitness has been impacted due to the lack of game time.
It’s understood that his medical has been scheduled at the French club and he will be flying in to complete it this week, per Get Football News France.

Speaking exclusively with West Ham Zone, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and a Sports Scientist, said:
“The buying club would look into his minutes’ situation and why his fitness issues are occurring, along with baking those into any fee.
“Unless there’s something significant, wouldn’t expect it to impact his medical.
“Expecting this one to go ahead and him not playing frequently is unlikely to be a long-term injury concern.“

The Hammers have sparingly used the Germany international this season, with him featuring in just 19 Premier League minutes.
He has fallen down the pecking order at right-back as well as centre-back and while his versatility may have been key in signing him, it has not worked out for him.
He did enjoy a relatively decent start to life at the London Stadium but a fresh start is needed for all parties.
