Divin Mubama sends message as West Ham United exit confirmed at London Stadium

Divin Mubama and George Earthy have sent messages to Dan Chesters after he confirmed his exit from West Ham at the end of the season.

The 22-year-old midfielder took to Instagram to confirm his exit on Friday 24 May, thanking everyone at the club for the memories he made, having made his senior Hammers debut in October 2021.

Chesters would only go on to make one more first-team appearance in his time at the London Stadium, most recently a loan spell at Salford City this season.

Reacting to the news, Mubama wrote: “All the best brother,” while Earthy wrote: “My brother, man. Best of luck, bro.”

Freddie Potts also left a comment on the post, writing: “All the best, Chesters.”

Dan Chesters confirms West Ham United exit

Chesters is clearly a much-loved figure amongst the youth players at West Ham, having made nearly a century of appearances for the Under-21s during his time at the club.

There is no doubt that the midfielder has a lot of talent, notching four goals and 18 assists in those games but, seemingly, struggled during his loan spells, joining Colchester United and Salford.

It is an extremely difficult task for youngsters to break through into the first team, especially when it comes to Premier League teams, with only a select few making a major breakthrough.

Of course, fans at the London Stadium are very aware of Earthy now, having made his debut in the Europa League this season and scoring his first senior goal against Luton Town in the final home game of the campaign.

Mubama, on the other hand, also looks set to leave the club this summer. He has yet to put pen to paper on a new deal with the Hammers, with several clubs circling to snap him up on a free transfer.

The forward struggled to make an impact on the team under David Moyes, taking up a spot on the bench and rarely getting onto the pitch as a substitute.

Although nothing is confirmed, Hammers fans are now able to say their goodbyes to Chesters, many of whom will want to track where he goes in the future.

In other West Ham news, Sheffield United’s stance on Oliver Arblaster has emerged amid interest from the Hammers.
