Di Marzio shares transfer update on West Ham United star Declan Rice amid Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United links
Gianluca Di Marzio has dropped an update on West Ham midfielder Declan Rice amid Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United links.
According to the Sky Sports journalist, Manchester City are in advanced talks to sign the 24-year-old Hammers midfielder.
ExWHUemployee said on 22 June that West Ham were expecting a third bid from Arsenal for Rice and the first offer from the Citizens, but nothing so far from Manchester United, despite recent reports.
Via Twitter, Di Marzio wrote, “ManCity are in advanced talks with West Ham to sign Declan #Rice. Man City willing to anticipate Arsenal.”
Battle intensifies
City are now looking to steal a march on Arsenal and by opening advanced talks they look to be in pole position currently.
Arsenal have been at this stage before but their delay in making a third bid could prove to be to their downfall this summer.
City have the financial might and the best manager in the world at the helm who can convince Rice to join them over the Gunners.

It could eventually come down to which club offers more money and the Citizens do not have any problem going above and beyond financially.
It remains to be seen if the Gunners’ third offer arrives and whether or not it satisfies West Ham as they now know of City’s interest.
If City can match it, the Hammers may ask for a little more and pit their offers against each other to make the most money possible.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers are already preparing to cash in on the Declan Rice money as they hold a transfer meeting in London as they’re confident of sealing a £50million signing.
