Dharmesh Sheth: West Ham boss Moyes won’t take any transfer risks
David Moyes still wants a striker to bolster his West Ham squad before the end of the January window, according to Dharmesh Sheth.
However, the Hammers manager is not ready to take any risks in the transfer market.
The Sky Sports reporter provided the update on Sky Sports News on Thursday evening, and it will be interesting to see whether the London Stadium outfit makes any addition in the coming days.
Sheth said: “David Moyes is still looking for a striker to strengthen his West Ham United squad this month, but he won’t take any risks in the market.”
Good news?
West Ham have not been taking risks after the transfer regrets Mario Husillos and Manuel Pellegrini brought them, with their two most expensive signings of all times – Sebastian Haller and Felipe Anderson – no longer at the London Stadium, and it is why Moyes has remained very cautious.
The Hammers boss would prefer a loan deal right now as that would be without any major risks, and it is possible that the window shuts without the club landing any new additions to their squad.
How the fans would feel about that remains to be seen, though.

Failure to land a striker last January affected their top-four chances, and it was baffling that they started 2021-22 without a signing in the department.
Michail Antonio has done very well so far, but the Jamaican international clearly needs a quality cover and competition to keep him on his toes.
Bringing in one would boost West Ham’s chances of ending the campaign with silverware and securing Champions League football for next season.
