Dharmesh Sheth: West Ham boss Moyes happy with his current squad

West Ham boss David Moyes would love to make January signings, with a striker on his radar, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

However, the Hammers manager is happy with his current squad, and it appears he would not mind ending the winter transfer window without making any additions.

The London Stadium outfit have been linked with several names already, but it remains to be seen whether they will be bringing in new faces with less than two weeks left before business ends.

Sheth said on Sky Sports News: “David Moyes wants to do business this month, maybe a striker, but he’s happy with the current makeup of his squad.”

West Ham lost 3-2 to Leeds United on Sunday, and it was clear that the unavailability of Kurt Zouma, Tomas Soucek and Mark Noble played a role in the defeat.

Being without the defensive trio was too much to handle for the Hammers, and while they could be back for weekend’s trip to Manchester United, adding a centre-back and defensive midfielder to the squad could come in very handy.

Issa Diop and Craig Dawson are clearly not good enough for their top-four challenge, while Spartak Moscow loanee Alex Kral does not appear to be in the manager’s plans, with just a minute of Premier League action to his name so far.

Despite that, it seems Moyes only has a new striker on his radar for this month.

Michail Antonio could do with a quality cover going forward this season, and relying on Jarrod Bowen to do that might simply not be enough.

A couple of strikers have been linked with West Ham already, but it would not come as a surprise should they end up signing someone not earlier reported as being on their radar.
