Dharmesh Sheth shares what West Ham United source has told him about Thilo Kehrer exit to AS Monaco
Thilo Kehrer could seal his West Ham exit within days and secure a season-long loan move to AS Monaco, according to Dharmesh Sheth.
The Sky Sports journalist claims that talks are ongoing over an option to buy and that a deal could be struck by next week.
The Germany international has fallen down the pecking order at the London Stadium and an exit is on the cards this month.

Sky Sports News, 5:24pm, 3 January: “Thilo Kehrer – this one is developing. He could be on his way to AS Monaco. Talks are continuing between the clubs over a loan with an option. One source has told us that it’s going in such a positive way that this deal could be done as early as next week.”
Demand an obligation
Kehrer’s departure from West Ham undoubtedly appears to be a positive move for both the player and the club.
Despite featuring regularly in his first season, the German has found limited playing time this term, falling down the pecking order due to the impressive form of Vladimir Coufal and the arrival of Konstantinos Mavropanos.
A loan move to Monaco provides the 27-year-old with the opportunity for more consistent playing time, crucial for his aspirations to be part of Germany’s squad in Euro 2024.

For the Hammers, securing an obligation to buy in the deal ensures a more financially beneficial outcome.
Guaranteeing a permanent transfer not only provides the club with a reliable income but also allows them to reinvest the funds into potential replacements or strengthen other areas of the squad.
Kehrer’s exit on these terms enables West Ham to streamline their squad and financial resources as they themselves need to strengthen the first team and will need the funds in order to do that, either in January or the summer.
In other West Ham news, the highest source at the Hammers has issued an update on a 2023 award winner to replace David Moyes as a sack update emerges.
