Dharmesh Sheth shares ‘latest prognosis’ on Lucas Paqueta West Ham United injury return
Dharmesh Sheth has revealed that Lucas Paqueta should be fit for the World Cup but there is still doubt over whether he will feature for West Ham before.
Injury expert Ben Dinnery suggested (2 November) that Paqueta is now in the final stage of his recovery from a shoulder issue.
However, Sheth has reported that a return for the World Cup is likely after a number of “conflicting reports” regarding the Brazilian’s injury.

“It has been a bit of a blow to have lost him. I’m sure there were conflicting reports on how long he was going to be out,” said Sheth (GIVEMESPORT, 3 November)
“The latest prognosis is that he should be available for the World Cup at the very least. West Ham, I’m sure, will be hoping that he can play some part before that World Cup break.”
Not looking good
This injury has come at a really bad time for the Brazilian with there just a matter of weeks before the World Cup gets underway in Qatar. It’s hard not to blame the 25-year-old for focussing on being fit for his national side, with Brazil one of the favourites for the competition.
David Moyes will be desperate for Paqueta to play some part in West Ham’s remaining Premier League campaign before the World Cup break. The Hammers face a tough test against Crystal Palace before a rejuvenated Leicester City make the trip to the London Stadium.

Four points will be the minimum Moyes will be after as he looks to cement his side’s position in the top half after a disappointing start to their campaign. Paqueta was getting up to speed for the Irons before his injury and it’s clear West Ham aren’t quite as creative going forward without him.
The London Stadium faithful will be desperate for this to be his last injury worry of the campaign.
