Dharmesh Sheth shares Declan Rice West Ham United to Manchester United transfer development amid FFP worry
Manchester United “retain an interest” in West Ham star Declan Rice, according to Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth.
The journalist noted that the Red Devils have held internal discussions regarding a move for the Hammers captain.
But he noted that the Manchester outfit are unlikely to spend a substantial part of their transfer budget on one player due to FFP rules.

“Manchester United retain an interest in West Ham United captain Declan Rice and there have been discussions internally about how possible it would be to sanction a deal,” Sheth wrote for Sky Sports.
“Due to FFP rules, it’s unlikely United could spend a huge portion of their budget on one player – especially as they have other areas they want to strengthen.
“For that reason, they are looking at a number of other options in midfield. Potential sales of players would increase United’s budget.”

Complicated
Manchester United are undoubtedly keen to strengthen in various areas this summer as they prepare for a huge campaign.
The Red Devils have massively improved under Erik ten Hag, but things are certain to step up next season as they return to the Champions League.
It means the manager needs more world-class talent among his ranks, and West Ham ace Rice could definitely improve his starting XI.
The Manchester outfit have got the majority of their recruitment right under Ten Hag so far, so Rice would be joining a team that is moving in the right direction.
But any deal for Rice looks set to be complicated given Manchester United’s spending limits, with the Hammers midfielder certain to cost the Red Devils a substantial amount of money.
It means they could be priced out of a deal for the England international, with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City seemingly able to afford the 24-year-old.
