Dharmesh Sheth drops Wolves striker transfer update amid interest in West Ham United man Danny Ings
Dharmesh Sheth has shared that West Ham United striker Danny Ings is one of “several” strikers that Wolves are looking at during the January transfer window.
The Hammers striker has been linked with a move to Molineux this month as former West Ham midfielder Gary O’Neil looks to add to his forward ranks for the second half of the Premier League season.
While Ings has been little more than a bit-part player in David Moyes’ side this season, recent injuries to other forwards have put the brakes on any potential deal, with Sky Sports reporter Sheth admitting Wolves have other targets.

As quoted by Give Me Sport (11 January) he said: “Ings is one of several strikers that Wolves are looking at. It looks like a big priority position now for Wolves. Cunha is still there, of course, but they’ve allowed Kalajdzic to go to Eintracht Frankfurt, and they’ve allowed Silva to leave the club for Rangers.
“They seem to be light in that position. You would have thought that allowing these players to leave would mean there would have been a plan for Wolves to bring in, or be close to bringing in, maybe a striker on loan or a permanent deal.
“Ings is one of the players they’re looking at. It could be difficult to do, only because of West Ham’s injuries.”
Sticky situation
West Ham want Ings off of their books this month, but the current situation at the London Stadium has made it very hard to allow the England international to depart.
Currently, Moyes cannot call upon Jarrod Bowen, Michael Antonio or Lucas Paqueta because of injuries, while Mohammed Kudus is away for the remainder of January as he takes part in the African Cup of Nations.

That leaves the Irons with very few fit and available forward options. They cannot afford to reduce that number even further by allowing Ings to make the switch to Molineux this month, even if it would be the best call for all parties in the long run.
Maybe this could be a deal that progresses later in the transfer window, but at the moment, it feels as though Ings will be staying put at the London Stadium for the remainder of January and Wolves will go shopping elsewhere.
