Dharmesh Sheth drops major triple West Ham United transfer update on striker hunt

Dharmesh Sheth has shared the latest on West Ham United and their hunt for a new striker on deadline day, with moves looking increasingly unlikely.

The Sky Sports journalist has reported that a bid for Benfica talisman Darwin Nunez has been knocked back.

On top of that, Sheth has shared that moves for Liverpool forward and Toulouse journeyman Rhys Healey are also unlikely.

Writing on his personal Twitter account on Monday (31 January), Sheth shared all the latest on the London Stadium striker hunt.

“Benfica reject West Ham United bid for Darwin Nunez,” he wrote. “West Ham considering improved offer – but given time constraints, looking increasingly difficult to do.

“Am told – as it stands – unlikely to go for Divock Origi. Rhys Healey also not likely.”

Unlikely.

Wow, could today get any worst?

So, as things stand, there has been one bid for Nunez rejected, and no other moves are in the pipeline at the London Stadium.

Rob Newman and David Moyes are really cutting things finely here, and it would be a huge risk to put all of our eggs in the basket of Nunez.

Currently away on international duty in Uruguay, it would take some effort to get a medical done as well as all of his papers signed in time to announce it before the deadline tonight.

Healey was never one that many took seriously, but at this moment in time, a move for Origi would certainly make sense.

Should the time start to tick down and no progress gets made, it would be no surprise to see Moyes launch a move for the Belgian international.

We could do much worst.
