Dharmesh Sheth drops advanced talks update as West Ham look to sign Ajax ace Edson Alvarez

Personal terms are not expected to be an issue as West Ham are looking to secure the services of Ajax midfielder Edson Alvarez, claims Dharmesh Sheth.

According to the Sky Sports journalist on Saturday (5 August), advanced talks are ongoing over the fee and structure for the Mexico international, 25.

The Hammers are yet to make their first signing of the summer and the Ajax man does appear to be number one this window.

Via Twitter, Sheth wrote, “West Ham United increasingly hopeful of signing Ajax midfielder Edson Alvarez. Clubs are in advanced talks with discussions centred on final fee and structure. West Ham encouraged by the player’s desire to join and personal terms not expected to be a problem.”

In the right direction

Things are progressing as they should for Alvarez and he does seem keen on moving to West Ham.

He was linked with a move to the Premier League in the past as well when Chelsea wanted to sign him last summer.

Ajax have struggled to keep hold of their star names in the past and are set to lose another one provided they get compensated well.

West Ham

The Hammers hierarchy will be fuming at the Dutch club for stealing Carlos Borges right from under their noses this summer.

Hopefully, there are no more issues and he’s brought in and given ample time in order to be ready to start the first Premier League game.

He will be keeping himself fit in pre season and obviously, it’s going to be a completely new ball game in the Premier League.

In other West Ham news, the club have now opened advanced talks with a Premier League player who appears to be open on leaving his side this summer.
