Declan Rice urged to leave West Ham United live on air by talkSPORT pundit Hal Robson-Kanu
West Ham United face a real battle to keep hold of their star player Declan Rice and Hal Robson-Kanu wants him to leave the London Stadium.
The 23-year-old has started all three games of the World Cup so far for England and is an integral part of David Moyes’ side too but sees his contract expire in the summer of 2024.
Former Welsh international Robson-Kanu urged Rice to think about leaving the Irons soon live on talkSPORT, claiming that the skipper had become too comfortable in his role at the club.
“He needs to move to a big club,” Robson-Kanu said. “You can see by the way he plays for England, he moves the ball and you can’t underestimate the difficulty in always being available.
“In terms of the opportunity to break the lines and the expectation that every time you get on the ball, your first thought is forwards.
“He’s probably a little bit comfortable in that West Ham team and for him to go to that next level he needs to progress in terms of club level.”
World’s Best
It is going to be incredibly difficult to keep Rice at the London Stadium for much longer because the rest of the club has not progressed with him to a world-class level.

He can genuinely be included in the ‘best in the world’ debate for holding midfielders but there is not another player at Rush Green who could make the same claim for their position.
At his best, Lucas Paqueta might be able to get named in the conversation of attacking midfielders but it hasn’t been seen by West Ham fans yet and Rice cannot wait for him to find consistency.
Ultimately, he should leave the club either in January or next summer to not only get into the Champions League where his talent demands to be but also to allow the club to get a huge price tag for his ability.
The end will soon come in this partnership but the future is bright for both even though it may not be together.
