Declan Rice takes aim at Lyon Twitter admin after West Ham win in France
Declan Rice has taken aim at Lyon’s Twitter admins after what he saw them post ahead of their Europa League quarter-final clash against West Ham.
The Irons beat the Ligue 1 side 3-0 [4-1 on aggregate] at the Groupama Stadium on Thursday [April 14] to book their place in the next round where they will face Eintracht Frankfurt.
Rice saw the win as an opportunity to take a dig at the French sides’ social media team.

He told BT Sport [April 14, 22:00]: “It’s special. Very, very special. We knew it was a tough place to come, but we knew with what we had on the pitch, our attacking players and what we had seen in the first game with them defensively, we could score goals tonight.
“If you can’t get up for these games you shouldn’t be playing. The roar from the warm-up, it was spine-tingling and it gives you that fire in your stomach.
“Their Twitter admins were saying they don’t know how they are not going to beat us, but those things come back to bite you. We put in a performance and now West Ham are in the semis.
“For Frankfurt to beat Barca, they are a good side. We will be ready for whatever. We want to reach the final.”
Karma.
Lyon are a funny bunch, aren’t they? First, you have Moussa Dembele who was handed his slice of karma after he cheated to get Aaron Cresswell sent off in the first leg; with the West Ham admin destroying him with a hilarious tweet.

Now you have Rice taking a dig at their Twitter admin after they got carried away, assuming they were going to beat the Irons at home in the return fixture.
It is difficult to see why Lyon had such an arrogant approach to the second leg. It is hardly as if they outclassed David Moyes’ side at the London Stadium.
The Hammers were actually the most dominant team and even managed to take the lead with ten men.
Setting the record straight last night was fantastic and Lyon deserved everything they got with their tasteless behaviour over the course of the tie.
