Bright talent
The game was a dead rubber for the Hammers, and Moyes felt the occasion is apt to give exposure to some of the young talents.
It also reflects how good the current academy structure is at West Ham. The future is definitely bright.
The best part of Ashby’s game is that he looked fearless. He didn’t lack confidence during the game.
At Zagreb, he made as many as five tackles, and also made five clearances, more than any other West Ham player.
He joined the Hammers at the age of nine and only signed his first professional contract last year.
Ashby is seen as a fantastic young talent at the academy level. He is a versatile player who started off as a midfielder. He can also play as a left-back, but he is more comfortable playing at right-back.
In other West Ham news, the club want to sign a ‘Breathtaking’ Champions League forward who’s keen on moving to the Premier League
