Declan Rice sends two-word message to West Ham youngster Harrison Ashby

Declan Rice has sent a nice message to West Ham youngster Harrison Ashby on Instagram.

Ashby made his Europa League debut against Dinamo Zagreb on Thursday and played really well on the right-hand side.

West Ham, who have already qualified to the knock-out rounds, lost the tie 1-0.

Ashby took to Instagram and Twitter to share his feelings. He wrote:

“Not the result we wanted last night but on a personal note felt amazing making my Europa league debut in front of all the fans the support was unreal, mega proud of all my brothers who made there debut last night.”

Rice commented on his post, saying: Congrats Bro.

Bright talent

The game was a dead rubber for the Hammers, and Moyes felt the occasion is apt to give exposure to some of the young talents.

It also reflects how good the current academy structure is at West Ham. The future is definitely bright.

The best part of Ashby’s game is that he looked fearless. He didn’t lack confidence during the game.

At Zagreb, he made as many as five tackles, and also made five clearances, more than any other West Ham player.

He joined the Hammers at the age of nine and only signed his first professional contract last year.

Ashby is seen as a fantastic young talent at the academy level. He is a versatile player who started off as a midfielder. He can also play as a left-back, but he is more comfortable playing at right-back.
