Declan Rice has sent a three-word message to his West Ham teammate Danny Ings after their 2-1 win over AZ Alkmaar on Thursday (11 May).

Important win

West Ham were by no means at their best on the night, but nonetheless they managed to pick up a very important win ahead of the second leg next Thursday (18 May).

The Hammers were forced to dig deep after going 1-0 down to the opener from Tijani Reijnders, with Said Benrahma and Antonio on target to secure the comeback and the victory.

It means the East London outfit are slowly but surely picking up momentum at an important time, with two wins from their last two matches after defeating Manchester United on Sunday (7 May).

This winning run comes immediately after a disappointing three-match losing streak, one that piled the pressure back on David Moyes after he had seemingly guided the club to safety.

A tough test against Brentford is up next for the Hammers on Sunday (14 May), with a win there certain to secure Premier League survival.

It would also allow Moyes and his players to focus all of their efforts on their Europa Conference League adventure.
