Declan Rice reveals Ryan Fredericks is his best friend, picks Mark Noble in top 3 players list
Declan Rice has revealed which West Ham teammate is his best friend while singing the praises of Mark Noble.
Rice took part in a special fan Q&A on West Ham’s TikTok account, where he told the audience that he is best pals with Ryan Fredericks.
He also listed Noble in the top three best players he has played with, along with Harry Kane and Mason Mount.
Rice said, “My best friend at West Ham is definitely Ryan Fredericks. We’ve been together for three years now, since the first day he walked through the door we got on really well and we’ve grown close ever since.
“The best three players I’ve played with are Mark Noble, unbelievable to play with at West Ham, Mason Mount, obviously played with him in my Chelsea academy days and England and also Harry Kane, unbelievable goalscorer and top player.”
Can’t beat Noble
It is brilliant to see how highly Rice respects Noble, as he could have picked Jesse Lingard or a number of England stars in his top three list.
Our captain clearly has a big influence on the team, particularly for Rice, whom he has probably nurtured since he first broke into the side.
Rice often featured as a centre-back in his early days in the team but has now developed into one of the best defensive midfielders in the league, if not the best.
Noble has guided him along the way and now Rice has picked up where he left off, and the team has benefitted greatly.
Credit should go to Noble as well as the managers Rice has played under, and it shows what we could miss when Noble retires.
We hope Rice stays for a few more years to carve out a legacy similar to the skipper, but for that to happen we will likely have to establish ourselves as a European outfit first.
