Declan Rice reacts to Carlton Cole question on West Ham celebration

Declan Rice has revisited the West Ham celebration that took social media by storm and he answered a burning question from Carlton Cole.

West Ham beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 at the London Stadium on February 21 with goals from Michail Antonio and Jesse Lingard.

It was the effort and subsequent celebrations from the Manchester United loanee and two of his teammates that racked up countless views on social media platforms afterwards.

Lingard, Rice and Pablo Fornals formed a musical trio as they celebrated by pretending to play the clarinet, drums and guitar, respectively.

In a video posted on the official England national team’s Instagram account [21/05/21] Rice responded to a question asked by ex-Irons striker Cole.

“Well played geeza. What was the move you were doing?”, Cole queried, followed by a number of laughing faces.

Rice broke out laughing and replied, “Coley like I said mate, you’ve just got to enjoy the moment.

“You’ve got to drum and play your part.”

Party time

We can expect a few more moves on Sunday if we secure Europa League football against Southampton at the London Stadium.

The celebration against Spurs might have seemed like a small event, but we think it’s evidence of the harmonious spirit fostered in the Irons dresing room, something we’ve not seen enough of in recent times.

We’ve often been accused of being a club under a toxic cloud, with divisions between players and staff behind the scenes and fan resentment in stadiums.

GSB can be apportioned a large share of the blame for that.

But moments like the celebration for Lingard’s goal show that there is a real camaraderie in the playing ranks now and we can’t wait to see that extend to supporters.

It won’t be a full house on Sunday but we can expect the Irons faithful in attendance to make a racket after such a long absence from seeing their heroes up close and personal, and that should help us get over the line and at least secure the point we need for Europa League qualification.

We hope Rice and co have something special lined up to honour it.

In other West Ham news, reliable journalist claims Irons want to sign £17m-rated striker compared to Sadio Mane.
