Declan Rice not set to change West Ham shirt number this season

West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice is not set to change his shirt number next season in the Premier League.

After shining in the number four shirt at the EUROs for England, there were suggestions he could take that at the London Stadium.

Instead, ExWHUemployee has shared that the Irons skipper is likely to keep his 41 shirt ahead of the new campaign.

West Ham

This comes after Michail Antonio was handed the famous number nine shirt against Celtic over the weekend, something he is now going to keep.

Speaking on the West Ham Way Podcast, the club insider shared the latest updates on the squad picture.

“Declan Rice will remain as 41,” he said.

“A number of people have asked me whether he will switch to the number four shirt, because that’s what he has been wearing for England.

“My understanding is that he’s going to stay as 41 and that will be his club number.”

West Ham

Stick.

Rice will be keeping his famous 41 shirt and hopefully, he will be doing that for many years to come.

There have been huge question marks surrounding his future already throughout the summer, and GSB can’t let a potential exit happen.

Money has to be spent on the squad as well as consistent appearances in Europe for Rice to sign any new contract.

We need to give Rice exactly what he wants, from something as simple as his shirt number to the big money he is asking for.

This squad has to be built around our midfield dynamo if we are to progress as a club and there are no excuses should we let him leave.

Rice has to be here to stay, we hope to see that number 41 for many years to come at the London Stadium.
