Declan Rice likes ExWHUemployee news as West Ham United exit saga goes into overdrive

West Ham skipper Declan Rice has liked a post by ExWHUemployee on Twitter defending his recent comments about wanting to play in the Champions League.

The England international came under fire by some for his comments while representing England at the World Cup, where he admitted that he wants to play Champions League football – all but confirming an exit from the Hammers is inevitable.

But while many interpreted the comments as disrespectful, Ex took to his social media account to defend the 23-year-old, something Rice clearly appreciated as he liked the post for all to see.

Harsh criticism

What Ex said in his post was absolutely spot on, and anyone reacting weirdly to Rice’s comments clearly haven’t been paying attention for the last 12 months.

What Rice said was nothing new, and all he was doing was answering a question which is something that fans constantly ask players to do in interviews – be honest and have a personality.

We all know that he wants to play in the Champions League and at the highest level, and that means that he will have to leave at some point because he’s not going to get it at West Ham.

Nobody can question his commitment to the team and the level he brings, and it can be argued that he’s actually held back by staying here as long as he has.

This summer seems like the perfect time for all parties to separate and then we can put a record sum to good use by bolstering several other areas of the squad and replacing him too.
