Declan Rice demands wages ‘never been seen before’ to stay at West Ham

Declan Rice wants to be in a “pay bracket that has never been seen before” at West Ham, according to EuroSport

The England international has already rejected two contract offers from the Hammers and wants to be recognised as “one of the country’s best talents”.

The report also states that if the Irons “genuinely value” Rice at £80m, they have to reflect that in the wage that he earns.

Will West Ham give Rice what he wants?

The 22-year-old had a sublime Premier League season in the 2020/21 campaign and formed an ideal partnership with Tomas Soucek in the middle.

He has then taken that form into the Euros with England, where he has been fantastic alongside Kalvin Phillips, so with West Ham competing in the Europa League, you would think now could be the time to tie Rice down on a long-term contract.

The England international is arguably West Ham’s most valuable player and also a key component of David Moyes’ side.

If the Hammers are to push on from their strong 2020/21 campaign, you would think they will need Rice to be playing for the Hammers for at least a few more years.

He has three years left on his current deal at the London Stadium, but you would think a huge contract offer from one of those clubs could tempt Rice. Unless, the Irons sort out a new contract and pay him exactly what he wants

This should really be a no-brainer for the West Ham board, and though it sounds as if Rice wants a lot of money, he deserves it because of how excellent he has been.
