Dean Windass: I don’t see Lingard joining West Ham
Jesse Lingard will not be returning to West Ham this summer, claims former Premier League striker Dean Windass.
David Moyes has been impressed by Lingard and wants to sign the player permanently this summer.
However, recently The Daily Star reported that the 28-year-old has been offered a new three-year deal at Old Trafford along with wages of £130,000-a-week.

This is why Windass does not see the transfer materialising this summer.
He told The Transfer Tavern, “He’s done fantastically well Lingard, and David Moyes will be banging on the chairman’s door to sign Jesse Lingard, although I don’t think it will happen.
“Jesse Lingard, if he doesn’t stay at Man United, I can’t see him going back to West Ham.”
Baffling
The England international joined the Hammers on loan in January and took the league by storm – scoring nine and assisting another four in 16 Premier League games.
His performances also put him in contention to make Gareth Southgate’s squad and the England manager even put him in his preliminary squad for Euro 2020, but decided to cut him from the final 26.

The fact that Windass doesn’t seem him returning is baffling, to say the least, as he’s enjoyed his best run of form here. He’s been handed the freedom and licence to wreak havoc in the final third and it resulted in him being one of the best Premier League players in the second half of the season.
It’s certain that he’s going to be one of the first names on the team sheet at West Ham should he join, but there has been no confirmation yet from his representatives that he’s fancying a move to the London Stadium over a Manchester United stay.
We know that the player would prefer to get regular first-team minutes next season and only if Man United can offer him that, will he consider staying.
Given the players they have among their ranks and the fact that they’re looking to spend big this summer, cashing in on Lingard will certainly be a topic of consideration in the boardrooms at Old Trafford.
