Dean Jones predicts ‘new friction’ between David Moyes and Tim Steidten as West Ham United sack decision mooted
There could be “new friction” between David Moyes and Tim Steidten at West Ham, according to journalist Dean Jones.
Jones noted that different transfer priorities in January between the manager and the technical director could be a problem.
As per the official West Ham website (1 July), Steidten landed the role at the Hammers, where we would work closely with Moyes and Sporting Director Mark Noble.

“I don’t think that what the club’s looking for is going to be the same as what David Moyes would be looking for in the January window,” Jones told GIVEMESPORT (8 November). “There could be new friction that’s caused on the back of that.
“I don’t think David Moyes is close to getting any guarantees over his future himself, so where do West Ham go here?
“They’re having to be very cautious as they tread into January about what they commit to because they really don’t know who the manager is going to be by the time we get to next season.”

Moyes to be sacked?
It really is impossible to know which managers are safe and which are unsafe in football these days. Moyes was seemingly very close to losing his job at the London Stadium at one stage last season given the club’s struggles in the Premier League.
The Hammers were heavily involved in a relegation battle, but Moyes guided them to safety with some big results, before going on to clinch the Europa Conference League trophy with the club.
That memorable win against Italian club Fiorentina will live long in the memory of West Ham supporters, and will undoubtedly see Moyes go down as a club legend.
But it is a new season, and after starting strongly, the East London outfit are now on a worrying run of form, meaning the pressure will no doubt be back on the man in the dugout. Whether or not the poor run leads to his sack remains to be seen, but stranger things have happened.
In other West Ham news, club scouts have been joined by Arsenal and Tottenham in the pursuit of a 10-goal international striker.
