Dean Ashton slams West Ham United fans after what they did in first half v Fiorentina
Dean Ashton has slammed West Ham United’s fans after Fiorentina winger Nicolás González was hit by cups during the first half of the Conference League final clash.
The 25-year-old produced a neat piece of play in the early stages of the fixture before being tackled fairly by Declan Rice in the Hammers’ penalty area.
The Argentine stayed down and was subsequently hit by cups from the West Ham fans behind the goal. Ashton was less than impressed.

“It’s play-acting, there’s no other way to say what it is,” said Ashton live on talkSPORT.
“We don’t want to see that from the supporters.”
Ridiculous
That was an utterly ridiculous moment from the Hammers fans. It’s incidents like this which give English fans a bad name abroad. It’s something we don’t want to see. As for West Ham’s performance in the first half, it was nearly as bad as the behaviour of their fans.
They couldn’t get out of their half. The Serie A side completely dominated possession and probably should have been ahead. A different plan is needed heading into the second period. They have to look to get on the ball and apply some sort of pressure.

One hope for the Hammers is that they are notoriously slow starters and Wednesday’s clash was no different. They are only going to improve in the second period. Potentially throwing another presence up front could be a route for Moyes to go down.
Michail Antonio looked isolated at times and unable to hold the ball up to his usual standard.
