David Sullivan takes fans for a ride amid next West Ham manager leak from London Stadium
West Ham suffered yet another home defeat on Saturday, this time going down to Crystal Palace.
Graham Potter’s tenure as West Ham manager looks to be over, with the East London club winning only once in five Premier League games.
West Ham fans protested against David Sullivan before kick-off, with supporters’ patience at the London Stadium wearing thin against the club’s hierarchy.
Sullivan has reportedly compiled a list of names to replace Potter, as he seeks to appoint another manager to turn the season around.

David Sullivan looking for ‘desperate levers’ to please fans
Sullivan is apparently set to turn to a former Hammers boss for Potter’s replacement in the dugout.
Slaven Bilic has been heavily linked with the West Ham job, with the Croatian reportedly the frontrunner to become manager.
Speaking on the Totally Football Show, Adrian Clarke thinks Bilic being linked to the job is just a ploy from the owners to try to get the fans back on side.
He said: “Do you think they were just feeling out the fans for public opinion? Sometimes a little story like that drops, and it’s almost like testing the gauge.
“Would Hammers fans be up for this or not? I would imagine that gauge was a negative one.”
Clarke also said that putting the Bilic story out into the news just distracts from how poorly the club has been run in the last few years
“They’re looking at what desperate levers they can pull to get the fans back on side,” he said.
“Obviously Graham Potter is the figurehead, but West Ham’s recruitment has been pretty poor for a long period of time. Just look at all the strikers they’ve burned through.”
Everything that the former Arsenal man has said is true, with fans getting fed up with the club’s ownership and wanting to see a change.
Slaven Bilic would not solve West Ham’s deeper issues
Bilic being brought in is another sign of the short-term thinking at West Ham.
While the Croatian may have an immediate impact at the London Stadium, he is extremely unlikely to be the manager for a long period.
West Ham record | Slaven BIlic |
Games | 111 |
Wins | 42 |
Winning percentage | 37% |
Bilic has only ever stayed in a job for more than three years once, and that was when he was in charge of his national team Croatia.
If West Ham are serious about the future of the club, they need to start looking higher up, starting with Sullivan and Co.
If the hierarchy cannot get their house in order, the cycle of revolving managers and fan frustration will only continue.
