David Sullivan stance on Julen Lopetegui sack shared after West Ham development
Julen Lopetegui will be given time by David Sullivan to turn things around at West Ham United, according to Give Me Sport.
The news outlet reported online [26 November] that the Hammers’ 2-0 Premier League win away at Newcastle United on Monday [25 November] has lifted a weight off Lopetegui’s shoulders.
Sullivan hopes his patience with Lopetegui will pay off and that the ex-Sevilla boss can begin to turn things around at the London Stadium.
Julen Lopetegui to turn things around with West Ham at the London Stadium?
It might be fair to say that the Hammers’ win at St James’ Park on Monday saved Lopetegui’s job.
Had the Hammers been beaten by the Magpies, and then lost to Arsenal at the London Stadium on Saturday [30 November], it might have been curtains for Lopetegui in East London.
However, it now appears as though whatever the result is on Saturday, the West Ham boss will remain at the club into December.
And with some more favourable fixtures against the likes of Leicester City, Wolves and Southampton on the horizon, things could suddenly start to look up for Lopetegui.
Of course, there is still a lot of hard work ahead of the club, and Lopetegui is by no means out of the woods just yet. However, it appears as though he has been thrown a lifeline at a very favourable moment, with Jamie Carragher having his say on the matter.

He has the backing of Sullivan, and for now, that is all that matters.
In other West Ham news, Jarrod Bowen has been told to leave the club after what happened against Newcastle.
