David Sullivan is "deeply concerned" by what he has seen at West Ham United but will not make a rash decision on Julen Lopetegui, according to TBR Football.

The news outlet reported on Tuesday [1 October] that the Hammers chief is eager to avoid a knee-jerk reaction on the manager despite becoming concerned with the results in East London.

Lopetegui has managed one win in six Premier League matches including three consecutive defeats at the London Stadium this season leaving his side fourteenth in the table only two points above the relegation zone.

Julen Lopetegui must reward the faith at West Ham United

West Ham need to turn their season around against Ipswich Town on Saturday [5 October], it may be Lopetegui's last chance to save his job with tough ties against Tottenham and Manchester United coming after the weekend.

The Spaniard has been heavily criticised upon his Premier League return, everything from his tactics, style of play, and even his team selection has been scrutinised in the past few weeks.

While a Hammers return for David Moyes is off the cards for the time being [Fabrizio Romano] the constant speculation regarding Lopetegui's future refuses to ease up and, the only way to silence the doubters is to put three points on the board.

It appears to be a lose-lose situation for West Ham. Even if the Irons beat Ipswich, based on recent performances the good feeling will not last long with Tottenham and Man United next, and even if Lopetegui is sacked, a return for Moyes would show the club as a laughing stock for re-hiring the manager the supporters were so eager to move on from.

The only logical solution, with no replacement in sight, is to continue with Lopetegui and back the manager to turn around the abysmal start to the season and start delivering results.

West Ham must re-evaluate expectations for this season and give Lopetegui the time he needs to integrate his style in East London.
