David Sullivan backs David Moyes with huge West Ham United move for Leeds star Raphinha – report

David Moyes has made Leeds United winger Raphinha his priority signing for West Ham in the January transfer window.

The Mirror have reported that the Irons believe they can tempt the Brazilian with an exciting package and European football.

David Sullivan is also said to back the move with huge figures already quoted in order to get a deal over the line.

This is likely one of the hardest deals in the Premier League.

Leeds heavily rely on the Brazilian and are said to have offered him a “huge” pay rise in order to keep him at Elland Road.

The winger is also currently away with Brazil on international duty, something that won’t see him return until after the deadline.

No chance?

This is one of those deals that likely came out of nowhere.

Raphinha impressed recently when Leeds came to the London Stadium and left with all three points, likely catching the eye of Moyes.

Unfortunately, it is near-impossible to poach any player from a Premier League side in January, midway through a season, never mind their best.

A huge bid shows the ambitions of the owners, though, with Sullivan well on board with this idea, shame it may have come just too late.

There is no chance Leeds will sell one of their best players with only three days left in the transfer window and literally no time to get another deal over the line to replace him.

The idea was there, but the planning simply wasn’t with this one.
