David Sullivan and Daniel Kretinsky’s stance shared as West Ham United shares set to enter the market
David Sullivan and Daniel Kretinsky both remain undecided over purchasing further shares in West Ham United, according to Hammer News.
The website shared on Tuesday (31 October) that sources close to the Hammers have said that neither of the Irons’ stakeholders “have decided” whether or not to move to purchase extra shares in the club after it was announced Vanessa Gold would be selling her shares.
Gold announced via an official club statement on Tuesday (31 October) that she was considering selling a proportion of her family’s shares in West Ham, with reports suggesting that she is working with investment bankers to attempt to sell up to 10 per cent of her 25 per cent stake in the Hammers [Mark Kleinman, 31 October].

Daughter of David Gold, Vanessa inherited her 25 per cent stake in the club following her father’s death earlier this year.
Time will tell
With the news only emerging recently, it seems as though no set plan is immediately in place for either Sullivan or Kretinsky to acquire Gold’s stake in the club, suggesting that this process could take a while to conclude.
Although Gold’s stake in the club that she is looking to sell is by no means huge, it would open the door for a new investor to take a seat at the Hammers table and bring new ideas and suggestions to the table, should a new party acquire her stake.

There have been repeated suggestions of Saudi interest in the Irons and maybe starting with a small stake could be a way in which they could begin to establish some control at the London Stadium, but you would imagine any investment would be on a larger scale than 10 per cent of the club.
Whatever direction the future of Gold’s stake heads in over the coming weeks and months could have a huge impact on the future of West Ham United and is definitely a process that is worth paying close attention to over the coming weeks and months.
