David Ornstein drops fresh Manchester City-Declan Rice update as Arsenal also keen on West Ham United star
David Ornstein has dropped a fresh update on West Ham midfielder Declan Rice amid Manchester City and Arsenal links to the Englishman.
The Athletic journalist claims that City are expected to table a bid for the 24-year-old on Thursday, 22 June, after the Hammers turned down two separate offers from the Gunners.
They will be launching a formal offer soon to rival Arsenal’s interest in signing the coveted West Ham midfielder this summer.
Via Twitter, Ornstein wrote, “Manchester City expected to submit an offer to West Ham for Declan Rice today. #MCFC have serious interest in recruiting 24yo England midfielder + it is anticipated a formal bid will be lodged soon to rival Arsenal for signing.”
Quick moves being made
It seems like City do not want Arsenal to sign Rice at any cost as they came very close to winning the Premier League last season.
Signing the Englishman will make them legitimate contenders as the 24-year-old is seldom injured and never seems to put in a bad performance.
He’s also extremely versatile and can play as a centre-back and a box-to-box midfielder too, if the role demands it.

It will be interesting to see if the West Ham man ends up moving to City, how he will fit into the same midfield as Rodri – who occupies a similar role to what Rice currently does at the London Stadium.
Gianluca Di Marzio has also revealed a fresh twist in Manchester City’s quest to sign Rice and things are getting interesting now.
It remains to be seen where he ends up going but there’s a very good chance that this bidding war will not be ending any time soon.
