David Moyes stance on Scotland job emerges after summer West Ham United exit

David Moyes wants to make a return to the Premier League and could snub an international job following his West Ham United exit, according to The Sun.

The outlet reported on its website on Saturday (29 June) that the 61-year-old is keen to return to club management in the future despite some mooting him as the new Scotland or Republic of Ireland manager.

Although there are no major Premier League roles available at this moment in time, Moyes would be willing to wait until a team encounters a crisis next season to step in and take over the reins if necessary.

Has David Moyes got a new job after summer West Ham United exit?

The majority of West Ham United supporters will be keeping a keen eye on where Moyes rocks up next after his London Stadium exit. While it won’t impact the Hammers directly, fans will be keen to see him back in a job.

Although his style of football and lack of tactical flexibility was widely panned by supporters and pundits alike last season, the Scotsman will always be an Irons legend for transforming the club from relegation fodder into European champions.

His record certainly warrants another crack at the Premier League and while he would more than likely be a success at an international level, it would be nice to see him return to the London Stadium, if even as a visiting manager.

But the most important thing for West Ham this summer is continuing their development under Julen Lopetegui. The former Real Madrid manager has arrived with plenty of pedigree and there is hope he can build upon Moyes’ foundations.

Hopefully, the remainder of the summer window will see him and Tim Steidten continue to add to the squad so that they can try and book their place back in Europe ahead of next season.
