David Moyes speaks out as West Ham United agree terms on three behind-the-scenes arrivals
West Ham United have confirmed three new appointments to David Moyes’ coaching staff for the 2023/24 season.
The Hammers have added John Heitinga, Mark Robson and Henry Newman as first-team assistants to the manager, as per the official West Ham website.
The trio join Billy McKinlay, Kevin Nolan and goalkeeping coach Xavi Valero, completing Moyes’ background team for the season, West Ham noted.

“John is someone I have known for a long time,” Moyes told the official West Ham website. “He has gained some very good experience since beginning his coaching career in the Ajax Academy and working his way up to their first-team.
“Mark and Henry are both already familiar to everyone here at the club and have deserved the opportunity to step up within our structure.
“John, Mark and Henry will each bring experience in different areas and complement the strengths we already have in the coaching team alongside Billy, Kevin and Xavi.”

Staff bolstered
West Ham spent the summer bolstering their squad following the exit of club captain Declan Rice, but now it is time to strengthen the coaching department.
The previous Hammers coaching staff were clearly doing a very good job thanks to their success in the club’s first four matches of the new Premier League season, but it certainly won’t hurt to bring in some more experienced faces.
They will definitely help Moyes going forward, with the manager set to come under plenty of pressure when the Hammers get their Europa League campaign underway.
The London Stadium outfit have made a very impressive start following a busy summer, picking up fine 3-1 wins against both Chelsea and Brighton.
The Hammers also battled it out with newly-promoted Luton Town, where they clinched a 2-1 win, having drawn 1-1 at Bournemouth on the opening day of the season.
The results leave them joint-second in the table on 10 points, two points behind leaders and current champions Manchester City.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers have a new hero as stunning Premier League statistics have emerged after the recent win against Luton.
