David Moyes shares latest injury update on West Ham defender Kurt Zouma

David Moyes has delivered a somewhat worrying injury update on Kurt Zouma after West Ham lost 2-0 against Brentford on Sunday.

After a stalemate first-half, goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Ivan Toney after the break saw Thomas Frank’s side climb to 13th in the table.

The Hammers suffered a blow in the first-half when Zouma left the pitch after picking up an injury.

Zouma’s 19th minute header cancelled out Spurs’ early opener and ensured a point for West Ham.

Moyes has suggested that he doesn’t think the injury is too bad, but he is not too sure about the extent of the damage at the moment.

“He twisted his ankle. We don’t know how bad it is. Coming off is not a good sign but not too bad,” said Moyes, as quoted by Football London.

Big loss

It’s a big blow for the Hammers.

Moyes will be hoping that his injury is not so serious and that he can return at the earliest.

He twisted his ankle and looked in great pain. However, Moyes has also suggested that the injury is not as bad as it was feared.

Zouma has already missed a lot of action this season, but West Ham need him now at the business end of the season.

It remains to be seen if he will be fit enough to play in the crucial second leg of the Europa League in France. The Hammers managed a 1-1 draw at home in the first leg.

Having said that, the Hammers should be really disappointed that they couldn’t capitalise after Arsenal and Manchester United dropped points yesterday.

Michail Antonio has now gone 12 games without scoring and his form is a big worry for the Hammers boss.
