David Moyes shares injury update on West Ham United trio
David Moyes has suggested he is hopeful that Nayef Aguerd could return to action before the expected schedule.
The Hammers boss has also added that summer signing Maxwel Cornet is expected to return to training in the middle of next week.
West Ham will face Anderlecht in their next game on Thursday in the Europa Conference League, where Moyes could be without Michail Antonio.

“I think most of the players are fine. Michail Antonio has a wee bit of a cold, which has kept him out of training for a day or two. So we’re a little unsure on him. We’ve got a couple of knocks and niggles but I think we’ll be okay,” said Moyes, as relayed by the club official website on Wednesday (12 October).
“Aguerd is beginning to make his way. He’s doing a bit on the grass. I hope next week he can join bits of the football. He’s a pretty good specimen so he’s one I might try to push on quite quickly, but we need to get him some U23s games and stuff like that.
“Maxwel had a small calf strain. I hope he’s going to be okay and hopefully it will be the middle of next week that we get him out on the grass.”
Huge boost
Antonio came off the bench in the last game against Fulham and scored the final goal to seal all three points for David Moyes’s side.
With Gianluca Scamacca now back among goals, Moyes has been able to give him adequate rest that Antonio didn’t get over the past two seasons.
Even if he misses this tie, Moyes won’t lose his sleep over it. He has plenty of options at his disposal.
However, the fans will be elated to hear the news on Aguerd and Cornet.

Aguerd picked up an injury during pre-season and needed surgery. He is most likely to return after the World Cup, but it’s good to hear that he is making rapid progress.
Likewise, Cornet is another summer signing who has failed to hit the ground running so far. He is a versatile player who has got bundles of energy, but he has struggled with fitness so far.
After a poor start to the season, the Hammers seem to have got their mojo back and have picked up three wins in a row in all competitions.
