David Moyes sack update as West Ham United insiders react at London Stadium
West Ham insiders feel like there is no way back for David Moyes after his side lost 6-0 to Arsenal at the London Stadium, according to Ian Herbert.
The Daily Mail journalist shared that it feels like the boss’ reign has come to an end for many of the fans who attended the game, with the tried and tested aspects of a Moyes team having vanished.
It is also said that some of the players in the West Ham dressing room are no longer on the manager’s side after a poor run of form and not winning a game since December.
Writing in his column for the Daily Mail’s print edition [14 February, page 63], Hebert shared: “For many who were there on Sunday, it felt like the end. The tried and tested aspects of a David Moyes team – its robust functionality and dependable solidity – vanishing in plain sight.
“Some inside West Ham feel that there’s no way back from this 6-0 home defeat. That the players are no longer with Moyes.”
West Ham United still questioning David Moyes
Herbert is correct – that defeat to Arsenal felt like a turning point. While there had previously been uncertainty, that seemed like the type of result that could be the final nail in the coffin for Moyes’ future.
It has been reported that the club have delayed talks over the offer of a new contract, with his current deal set to expire in the summer, amid a terrible run of form and backlash from the fans.
For the most part, there seems to be conflict between pundits on the outside and fans of the club, which usually points to the fans being right. Plenty of pundits have questioned the frustration towards him, but most of the fans are now starting to turn.

High-profile bosses are reportedly lining up to take the job, and the West Ham board could pull the trigger come the end of the season in favour of a more exciting, more ambitious, and more forward-thinking boss.
In other West Ham news, a BBC pundit told the board what to do about Moyes.
