David Moyes sack update as West Ham United fans may start to turn again at London Stadium

David Moyes has two games to get results or the West Ham support will turn on him at the London Stadium, according to Dean Jones.

The Hammers are on a bad run of form of four straight Premier League defeats following the 3-1 loss at Arsenal on Boxing Day, scoring just twice in that time.

The manager shot back [Evening Standard] at suggestions his time was running out with the Irons in his pre-match press conference ahead of the crucial clash with Brentford on Friday (30 December), but Jones has highlighted the pressure the Scot is under.

Speaking to GIVE ME SPORT in his latest interview, the former EuroSport journalist shared what could happen at the London Stadium in the coming weeks.

“David Moyes he’s up against it, really. He’s got the next two games, certainly, to start getting results,” he wrote.

“Otherwise, there’s already sections of the West Ham support that were turning on him before Christmas, before the World Cup break. So, that negativity will be arising again soon.”

Make or break

Moyes can put a brave face on things, and whether his job is truly at risk or not only the Hammers board will know, but he cannot dispute the fact that results haven’t been good enough.

Lose to Brentford and the fans aren’t going to sit quietly and accept it because a year ago this team was pushing for Champions League qualification.

A record summer transfer window shouldn’t have transformed that side into relegation candidates but that is currently the situation the club is in.

There are some mitigating circumstances in terms of injuries, especially in defence, but when they have been available Moyes hasn’t got enough out of his shiny new signings.

And even allowing for the fact that players can take time to adapt to the Premier League, established key members of the squad like Declan Rice, Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio haven’t reached the same level they were at last season.

That may not be entirely the manager’s fault but he is the man who will carry the can for it if he doesn’t starting getting results soon.
