David Moyes sack decision made at West Ham United as David Sullivan replacement update emerges
David Moyes is safe from the sack at West Ham but David Sullivan will have eyed a replacement for the manager, according to Paul Brown.
Speaking to GiveMeSport on Tuesday (24 October), the freelance journalist, who’s written for the Daily Star and Josimar, reported that West Ham are still happy with Moyes’ leadership despite considering sacking him last season and sounding out potential successors.
West Ham lost 4-1 away at Aston Villa on Sunday (22 October), meaning they’ve now won just one of their last five Premier League fixtures.

However, that form doesn’t mean that Conference League-winning manager Moyes will be given the boot by Sullivan and co, according to Brown.
“As far as I know, the club are still really happy with Moyes,” Brown told GiveMeSport.
“They quite rightly think that he basically rescued them from a situation where they probably would have been relegated, and to go on and do what he’s done by winning a European trophy, making history with the club, I think they were absolutely delighted with that.
“Last season in the league it wasn’t the greatest showing, and I do think the owners looked around in case there was a better option out there. But I think winning that trophy in Europe ultimately made the decision for them and it does look like West Ham will have a better season in the Premier League this year.
“So I think Moyes knows his position is safe, he knows the owners are fully behind him and I don’t think he’s his future is in doubt at this point.”

Who could be next West Ham manager?
How long is a piece of string?
There doesn’t seem to be any concrete speculation about Moyes’ job being under threat at the London Stadium although there are some fans – a very small minority of them, it’s worth saying – have become a bit disillusioned with the Scot again.
They’re idiots for not having faith in him, especially after he took us to Europa Conference League glory last season.
We didn’t do great in the Premier League but we’d take that every season to win silverware in domestic or European competitions.
But we’re only nine games in the league season and we’re ninth, which is pretty much par for the course considering the teams above us right now are either big-six sides or Aston Villa, Brighton and Newcastle.
The league table is shaping up as expected and West Ham fans are hoping for too much if they want us to be much higher than this right now.
We’re doing well in the Europa League too so just keep the faith with Moyes.
Any talk of him going is premature. Talking about who could replace him is even more premature.
