David Moyes responds when asked about West Ham linked defender Nat Phillips
David Moyes remained coy when he was asked whether Nat Phillips would improve the West Ham squad in January.
The Hammers are looking to bolster their defence this month, and they have been reportedly linked with a move for the Liverpool defender.
According to a recent report from The Express, the Hammers have put the 24-year-old centre-back as one of their top targets this month.

However, Moyes has refused to be drawn into speculations. The Hammers boss said, as quoted by Football London: “I don’t know why you would ask me about a player directly because I cannot give you an answer whether I was or I wasn’t so you can take that as whatever answer you like.”
Superb addition
The 24-year-old defender would be a quality addition for the Hammers.
Kurt Zouma is set to return to action shortly and it’s a massive boost for David Moyes’s side. However, the squad still needs another centre-back this month, especially with Issa Diop failing to hit consistency.
Phillips, who played a big role last season for the injury-hit Liverpool, has struggled for regular games at Anfield.

An old-school type defender, Phillips is strong in the air and he is good at making tackles.
However, this season he has dropped down the pecking order at the club following the arrival of Ibrahima Konate.
Jurgen Klopp is open to allowing the “phenomenal’ defender to leave this month, and a move to London Stadium could be on the cards.
However, Moyes is refusing to give away his transfer plans. With time running out, it remains to be seen if West Ham come up with a formal offer for the Reds defender.
