David Moyes reacts if Newcastle will take their eye off the ball v West Ham United
West Ham will travel to St James’ Park to face Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday (4 February), and David Moyes expects a “tough game”.
Newcastle are third in the Premier League this season, and they are heading into the game after beating Southampton 2-1 in the Carabao Cup to reach the finals for the first time since 1976.
There are suggestions that the Magpies could be in “danger” of taking their eyes off the ball for this clash. Moyes, however, was not prepared to be drawn into such mind games ahead of the clash, and he told the reporters – “don’t ask me that question”.

“Don’t ask me that question, ask them if they are doing that,” said Moyes, as quoted by football.london.
“All we can say is they’re doing very very well. They’ve set some really good standards in the opening part of the season and we know we have a tough game.”
Spot on
Moyes is absolutely spot on here. He is not getting distracted ahead of the game and knows what the Magpies are capable of.
Newcastle are in great form at the moment, undefeated in 15 league games, and they have played some fantastic football under Eddie Howe this season.
They are attractive to watch and are yet to suffer defeat at St James’ Park, in their 10 games so far.

However, they have managed four draws at home, and the Hammers should look to get a positive result here. More than thinking of how Newcastle could react, it is important to focus on their own games.
West Ham have done well too in recent games, beating Everton in their last Premier League outing and also winning in the FA Cup against Derby County.
The confidence is gradually coming back into the side, but they have a long way to go. The Hammers are only a point above the drop zone, and they need to be on top of their game against the Magpies.
