David Moyes provides injury update on West Ham star Tomas Soucek
David Moyes has confirmed that Tomas Soucek is fit and ready to play for West Ham in the Europa League on Thursday.
The big Czech midfielder found himself on the wrong end of a boot from Salomon Rondon, which has forced him to get stitches.
However, this slight injury won’t stop the 26-year-old from playing for the Irons against Genk tomorrow.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference [West Ham website], Moyes said: “Tomas Souček is okay. He’s obviously been a bit sore, had a stitch, and he got his lip redone the other day by another doctor.
“He’s had stitches in his lip, in his cheek and above his nose as well. I think he’s fine.
“There’s a decision whether we rest him, but I don’t think his injury is any reason not to play him.”
Soucek is fit should the Irons need him.
It is good to hear that Soucek is fit and raring to go, but Moyes did hint that he could be rested, which might not be such a bad thing.
Last season, he played 41 games then he played for his country in the Euros and so far this season he has played in ten of the Irons’ 11 matches.

So, you could argue that Soucek might be tired.
He clearly has a fantastic attitude because he wants to play tomorrow and trains every day, but maybe the decision needs to be taken out of his hands, and he needs a slight rest [West Ham Facebook].
Certainly, we would argue that he hasn’t been as good so far this season as he was in the last campaign, and a rest could be exactly what he needs to get back to the levels we know he can reach.
However, it is good to hear that the damage to his face was nothing serious, which is the most important thing.
