David Moyes praises West Ham mainstay for Grady Diangana outburst

David Moyes has praised West Ham United captain Mark Noble for his outburst following the sale of Grady Diangana to West Brom.

The Irons skipper came out and claimed he was angry and disappointed with the club’s board after they allowed one of their brightest talents to leave for only £18million.

West Ham are yet to reinvest the money, although they have seen a couple of bids turned down for Burnley defender James Tarkowski.

Moyes believes that Noble and his teammates highlighted solidarity and that he encourages his players to speak out publicly.

“I think they showed real true solidarity amongst themselves, I think the captain showed exactly what the players feel,” he said via Claret and Hugh.

“Mark Noble, more than anyone, had probably seen him develop as a young player, so from that point of view, I think he was entitled to give his opinion. We encourage the players to speak openly but also we know what Mark means to the club and what he thinks of the club.

“I think there is a real building spirit here, so, look I think what happens is football players move on at any club and things change at every club.”

Moyes may encourage his players to speak out, but some of the comments were definitely taken too far.

Jack Wilshere claimed that Diangana will be moving to a club that finally respects him, something that won’t have gone down well with the board.

As a matter of fact, talkSPORT have since reported that the Irons are negotiating the termination of Wilshere’s contract with only one year left on his current deal.

That’s how Wilshere is rated at the London Stadium, so he may be encouraged to speak out, but he doesn’t have a place within the squad and that maybe his own fault.
