David Moyes has set new West Ham United signing Said Benrahma the challenge of bringing his goals and assists to the Premier League.
The Hammers boss admitted that there are always doubts behind players arriving from the Championship, but others have shown they can do it before.
Jarrod Bowen did exactly the same since arriving in January and has since been involved in eight goals in his 16 appearances.
Moyes used that as a reference when setting his challenge for the Algerian, who he hopes will add a new dimension in the final third.
“Saïd Benrahma scored 17 goals and got 12 assists last season and the season before I think he got 14 goals and ten assists, so if you’re asking me what I want him to bring to the Club, I want him to bring his goals and assists,” he said.
“That’s what I see. Now, can he step up from the Championship to the Premier League? That’s the bit we’ve asked the likes of Jarrod Bowen if he can do it.
“That would be the challenge for Saïd, but if he can bring his goals and assists to what we’ve got at the moment, it would be another dimension which he would bring to the team, I hope.”
Benrahma is a great signing, and West Ham have beaten a number of clubs to his signature this summer.
Fabrizio Romano shared on his personal Twitter account that two Champions League clubs had shortlisted the Algerian for the January window.

This just shows the magnitude of the player, and if he can hit the ground running at the London Stadium, we will be in for a treat.
