David Moyes likes West Ham goalkeeper ‘a lot’ – report

There has been yet another twist for West Ham in their hunt to find a new goalkeeper in the summer transfer window.

A host of goalkeepers have been have been linked with the number one spot at the London Stadium, most recently West Brom’s Sam Johsntone who is also out of contract at the end of the season.

However, reports by Claret & Hugh have rubbished the claims, saying that West Ham have no plans to make a move for the England international.

Instead, the report strengthens the chances of Alphonse Areola signing a permanent deal with the Irons.

A club insider told Claret & Hugh: “The manager likes him a lot,“ after his impressive year on loan in east London.

Get it done.

Areola is a complete no brainer. He has settled into this West Ham squad excellently whilst proving himself to be a very valuable player.

Nobody would have predicted the impact he has had on this team when coming in on loan at the start of the season. the France international has played a key role in the Irons’ Europa League run and done excellently when called upon in the other cups.

It is baffling to think that no team has snapped him up permanently after several loan spells away from PSG.

The 29-year-old has more than enough quality to start in the majority of Premier League teams and West Ham would be fools not to sign him.

Of course, Fuham might have something to say about that but who would he rather be playing for – European title pushers or a club that can barely stay in the English top flight?

With a number of names linked with the Hammers, he should be the only one seriously considered.

In other West Ham news, Carlton Cole and Joe Cole were left in awe of rarely seen Hammer’s Europa League displays.
