David Moyes has made a worrying West Ham transfer admission

David Moyes has admitted that West Ham might not bring in a striker during the remainder of the transfer window.

Speaking to the Evening Standard, the West Ham boss revealed that he is “desperate” to sign another striker for his first-team; however, that might not be possible.

The Hammers have so far only added Alphonse Areola to the first team though a deal for Kurt Zouma should be confirmed soon [Toby Cudworth].

This is what Moyes said about his striker pursuit: “I’m really desperate to sign a forward, but from what we can get, and what we’ve been offered – at the moment, I’m not quite getting it.

“It’s either the cost is too much, or they’re not available. I hope we find someone, but I certainly haven’t got any guarantees, that’s for sure.

“There’s a really good chance we don’t sign a centre-forward, a really good chance we don’t get one.

“That’s a fact, and I’ve been saying that all along. The quality of the centre forwards required to come in. So there’s a good chance we don’t get one.”

Moyes to be left short.

Michail Antonio has started the season in fantastic form with three goals and two assists. He is also the Hammers’ top Premier League goalscorer now after his double on Monday.

However, if he suffers an injury or needs to be rested, the Irons don’t have another forward in the first team.

This is borderline ridiculous for a team that finished sixth in the league last season.

Now, Moyes appears to be saying that they could end the transfer window without signing another forward, which would be a nightmare.

Hopefully, the Irons do find a forward because otherwise, they could find themselves in trouble if injuries hit Antonio.

In other West Ham news, the club have sealed a major new signing.
