David Moyes edges to West Ham United exit as David Sullivan meets with Julen Lopetegui
David Sullivan has met with Julen Lopetegui about replacing David Moyes as manager of West Ham United this summer, according to talkSPORT.
Writing on their website (26 April), the news outlet report that the Hammers owner met with the Spanish coach and held talks about taking the job at the end of the season.
Moyes is increasingly expected to leave the club when his contract expires, although an official decision has yet to be relayed by West Ham.
Sullivan has already held face-to-face talks with Sporting CP boss Ruben Amorim earlier this week, but the talks came to nothing and the Portuguese coach won’t be moving to the London Stadium.
Julen Lopetegui to become West Ham United manager?
It now seems as though the club are really making their moves on the manager market to bring in a replacement for Moyes, knowing it’s going to be a difficult thing to do.
Moyes has been excellent for the club and taken the team to Europe in three consecutive seasons, while reaching a semi-final, a quarter-final and winning the Europa Conference League too.
But fans want to see an evolution from his style of play and want to be entertained more, and Lopetegui absolutely fits the bill in that regard.

His style at Wolves was adventurous but also not open to being battered by the top teams, and he showed good flexibility tactically too.
Fans should be excited if this is to become the direction the club go in, but they face competition from AC Milan for his signature and should look to move quickly if they want to get a deal done.
