David Moyes does not want Arnaut Danjuma at West Ham despite scouting him

West Ham are reportedly unlikely to sign Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma this summer despite David Moyes personally scouting him.

According to Claret and Hugh, Moyes realised that he is not the player who’ll be able to push Michail Antonio and become a regular at the London Stadium.

He has also been valued at a fee in the region of £43million if the Spanish side are to cash in on his services.

West Ham

Blessing in disguise

It’s strange to see that the Hammers considered him as an option to replace Antonio and not as another wide attacker.

That’s basically where the Dutchman has played his entire career and asking him to play as a number nine in a league that he’s not particularly comfortable playing in, is baffling.

Moyes would’ve scouted him and noticed exactly the same thing and it’s good that he has asked the club not to pursue this any further.

They need to up their pursuit of a new striker and explore options to sign Chelsea’s Armando Broja, especially now that Everton have also entered the race for him.

The Hammers are not going to find it easy completing that move as the Blues themselves are not sure about whether or not they want to sell him.

Despite two signings, there is a feeling that the club need to accelerate their efforts to rope in new signings before things get too late.
