David Moyes could land new three-year contract at West Ham

West Ham could hand David Moyes a bumper three-year contract as the board gets ready to discuss a new deal for the Hammers manager, according to Hugh Southon.

The reliable Claret & Hugh writer has reported on his website that the Irons will kickstart talks once they know which European competition they will be playing in next season.

With four matches left to play, Moyes’ men are three points outside of the top four and have a favourable run of fixtures left to finish the Premier League season.

Southon also reports that Moyes “is more than happy with his situation at the London Stadium” and that any fears of a disagreement or the Scot being eyed by another club “can be firmly dismissed”.

Massive news

West Ham’s current board rarely offer more than two years to managers so this just shows in itself how impressive a job Moyes has done in his second spell in East London.

Not only has he won the London manager of the year award but he should also be the number one pick for the Premier League manager of the year due to the work he’s done this term.

West Ham were so close to being relegated last season.

Now, we’re potentially weeks away from qualifying for the Champions League without having the break the bank last summer on improving the squad.

Moyes has improved each player individually using his years of coaching experience while his backroom staff have also played a massive role.

The players deserve huge credit to with a number of players stepping up to the mark who were already at the club, while much-maligned players like as Craig Dawson and Jesse Lingard have arrived and silenced their critics.

There’s such a brilliant feel-good factor among the Hammers fanbase at the moment.

It’s just a shame we haven’t been there in the flesh to witness this.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers have been tipped to beat Aston Villa to this “major signing”.
