David Moyes confirms Lucas Paqueta has completed his West Ham United medical

David Moyes has confirmed to journalist Jonty Colman that Lucas Paqueta has completed his West Ham medical today after the Hammers won 1-0 against Villa on Sunday (28 August).

The Hammers picked up their first win of the season after winning at Villa Park. And Moyes has now confirmed that they are close to sealing their eighth signing of the season.

Paqueta is a highly-rated attacking midfielder who joins the Hammers, after they had agreed a big-money deal with the French club.

Colman wrote on Twitter: “David Moyes confirms to me that Lucas Paqueta has had a medical today. He’s yet to see the results, but remains very hopeful.”

Expected

This is turning out to be a massive summer transfer window for the Hammers, and David Moyes has been properly backed by the board after what he achieved in the past couple of seasons.

The Hammers have shown ambition in the market, and they have signed some terrific players. Of course, it will require time to gel them into a squad, but Moyes is definitely the right man for that role.

Bolstering the midfield was a priority for Moyes, and West Ham have been linked with a host of players. They even lost to Everton in the race for Amadou Onana.

West Ham

However, landing Paqueta would be massive for the club.

The Brazilian is a gifted midfielder who is technically skilled and he is likely to be a part of the club’s world cup squad.

He has a fantastic record in France, and he would be real quality to the side. He will become their eighth signing this season, but Moyes could still look to bring one or two more players before the end of the window.
